Presented by Dr. Arto Kiviniemi, M.S. Arch.,Vice President for Innovation and Development, Olof Granlund The main focus in the development of integrated BIM has been strongly in the technology. The reason is obvious since data interoperability is a mandatory precondition for efficient BIM-based workflow between different participants. However, despite some technical limitations which still exist, the main obstacle in the last few years has not been the technology, but the old processes and business models; the old paper-based processes do not utilize the full potential of integrated BIM. The presentation identifies some major problems in the current processes based on several research and pilot projects and the development and extensive use of BIM in projects since 1998. Comments (0)
