| October 6 - Wi-Fi based Indoor Tracking & Augmented Reality |
|
Real-time Location Systems (RTLS) typically refers to systems that provide passive or active (automatic) collection of location information. This webinar will focus mainly on indoor tracking using WLAN/Wi-Fi based location systems. The presentation will describe what it is, how it works, performance measurement for an RTLS deployment, pre-requisites and choices an enterprise needs to make before going forward with an indoor tracking solution.
While RTLS is useful to keep track of people and assets within indoor sites, this presentation will also go into how this location information can be used as a platform for other applications such as mobile phone-based augmented reality. On the spectrum between virtual reality, which creates immersible, computer-generated environments, and the real world, augmented reality is closer to the real world. Augmented reality adds graphics, sounds, haptics and smell to the natural world as it exists. You can expect video games to drive the development of augmented reality, but this technology has countless applications. So, what does this all mean for our industry? Comments (0)
