A difficult financial climate has put the Construction industry under real pressure, so in order to maintain their growth, and in some cases even survive, they need to find new and better ways of working to win new business, meet their Health and Safety Executive (HSE) objectives and drive down costs.
The latest technological developments offer the construction industry innovative ways of solving its ever-changing issues: RFID-based tool tracking entered the market some years ago. But as well as making the obvious cost reductions, the smart Construction companies are realizing that by actually managing their assets using RFID technology they can add profitability, Health & Safety compliance and customer service to the list of benefits.
Using a combination of the latest technologies - RFID (Radio Frequency Identification), GPS, mobile computing and web-based applications - asset management can now be undertaken reliably and rapidly, anytime and anywhere. This webinar will explore how, when implemented properly, end-to-end asset management can meet the needs of today’s cost and safety conscious mobile workforce.
The webinar features case studies from two of the UK’s leading construction companies: the Byrne Group www.byrnegroup.co.uk and Morgan Sindall www.morgansindall.com
The Byrne Group project, which also won the Plant Services Best Practice in Management award 2010, is an integrated solution that combines RFID technology to manage, track and get visibility of Byrne’s Plant, stock and equipment with COINS Plant Manager software to automate the Issue and Return of these assets.
Morgan Sindall’s RFID solution was designed to be an error-proof system for managing the on-going maintenance inspection schedule of or lifting and plant safety equipment at its many construction sites. Morgan Sindall now uses RFID tags and handheld computers to manage assets and record inspection results directly in the field.
