For years, Mr. Alianza, who works for Intel, has worked on behalf of FIATECH, helping with the development of the Capital Projects Technology Roadmap, leading the Capital Projects Technology Roadmap Element 7 area that focuses on New Materials, Methods, Products & Equipment, while participating in the development of other element areas and providing crucial technical input to the development of our Smart Chips project. Additionally, Mike helped launch FIATECH’s CETI Award program (Celebrating Engineering and Technology Innovation) and served as chairman of the jury panel that selected the 2006 winners. Robin Benjamins
Mr. Benjamins, who works for Bechtel, has been instrumental in leading FIATECH’s Accelerating the Deployment of ISO 15926 project where he recognized the need, identified the opportunity, organized the community, and most especially, delivered the result, on time, and under budget. Additionally, for several years, Robin led the Capital Projects Technology Roadmap Element 9 team, which focuses on Data Management and Information Integration. His drive and perseverance to ensure FIATECH is creating tools that the industry can deploy to improve data exchange are unparalleled. Rob Brawn
Mr. Brawn, who works for CH2M HILL, has led the development of the Capital Projects Technology Roadmap Element 2 area, focused on Automated Design, for several years. Rob recently identified a specific need in this area and has since launched and created a new FIATECH project on Automated Design Workflow Mapping and Checklists, which will be piloted as part of CH2MHILL’s preparation and construction for the 2012 Olympics in London. Dr. Allan Chasey
Dr. Chasey, a professor at Arizona State University, received the award for serving tirelessly as the champion of the Capital Projects Technology Roadmap Element 5 area, focused on building an Intelligent Self-maintaining and Repairing Operational Facility. Allan has been persistent in driving the industry to pay more attention to the need for streamlining and integrating the operations and maintenance phase of the life cycle of a constructed facility, where studies show there is the greatest opportunity for savings. Allan is currently working on and leading a new FIATECH project to develop an Intelligent Building Roadmap Directory. John Fish
Mr. Fish, who works for Ford, Bacon and Davis, has been instrumental in championing the development of FIATECH’s Global Valve Cross-Reference eCatalog project. John identified the urgent need, organized and galvanized suppliers and purchasers of valves to participate in the project, built a business case for it, and has guided it through development. John continues to ask the industry “Why not?” and as a result we are better for his efforts. Faith Junghans
Ms. Junghans, who works for CH2M HILL, has been a long-time supporter of FIATECH and its mission and has served an integral role in leading the development of the Capital Projects Technology Roadmap Element 8 area, focused on the creation of a Technology and Knowledge-enabled Workforce. Faith has also been instrumental in developing closer relations between FIATECH and other national and international organizations and is and effective, articulate, and colorful spokesperson at numerous industry events, promoting the work of FIATECH. Mark Palmer
For many years, Mr. Palmer, an employee of the National Institute of Standard’s Building and Fire Research laboratory, has contributed countless days and weeks to FIATECH, beginning as its first “release-time professional” and continuing on to be a key contributor to the Capital Projects Technology Roadmap. For the past four years, Mark has provided leadership as the project manager for FIATECH’s AEX project, which was FIATECH’s first effort to accelerate the standards development process. He has also been integral in assisting in the development of the ADI project and serving as an “advisor extraordinaire” to FIATECH on all things related to standards. Francis Rabuck
Mr. Rabuck, who works for Bentley Systems, has recently been leading the Capital Projects Technology Roadmap Element 4 area that is focused on achieving an Intelligent & Automated Construction Job Site. Additionally, Fran has been leading the resurgence of FIATECH’s Smart Chips project, drawing on his vast experience and networks in the emerging technologies industry. Fran is also a key contributor to the structure, content, and speaker list for FIATECH’s member-only monthly Emerging Technology webinars and is assisting in the expansion of this series with podcasts for the summer of 2007. Sylvia Rappenecker
Ms. Rappenecker, who works for The Dow Chemical Company, has provided long-standing support for FIATECH, beginning with its first Member’s Meeting in 2001. Sylvia was key in the development of the Capital Projects Technology Roadmap and has led the Element 1 area that is focused on Scenario-based Project Planning, and has participated tirelessly and effectively in the development of several other element areas. Sylvia has represented FIATECH on numerous occasions at industry events, and is an effective and powerful representative of FIATECH’s work. |
