Fiatech is beginning its annual project formation process. This gives Fiatech members the opportunity to propose new project ideas and, based on member consensus and budget availability, decide which projects Fiatech should pursue.
Austin, TX, August 22, 2012 — Building upon the success of its meeting held last year at SPAR Europe 2011, Fiatech is proud to announce that we have partnered with the SPAR Point Group once again to hold a one-day meeting on November 12, 2012, in conjunction with the SPAR Europe 2012 event in The Hague, Netherlands.
Fiatech is launching a new project, "Harmonizing Industry Standards to Exchange Equipment Data" (HEED). The objective of this initiative is to demonstrate the use of electronic data exchange (EDE) to integrate and automate the processes and software applications used for performance and margin management of equipment included in mechanical systems. The use cases for this project will be based on a closed loop, heat transfer, liquid circulating (CHL) system, and will include information on centrifugal pumps, valves, motor operated valves, heat exchangers, a control system, and piping.
Fiatech held a drawing on June 28 for all who provided feedback on the 2012 conference evaluation and we're pleased to announce that Alan Leonard from Suncor Energy was selected during the random drawing. Austin, TX, June 15, 2012 — The Fiatech Regulatory Streamlining Steering Committee has released two project reports that focus on key components of a comprehensive strategy to modernize and transform the regulatory review process for building design and construction. Automated code check and digital signatures are two technologies and methods that support the committee-named "Digital Review Process," which integrates electronic plan submission and review, automated code-check, digital signatures, and replicable construction review guidelines to streamline business processes.
Austin, TX, May 21, 2012 —Fiatech has announced that J.P. (Peter) Blake, director of the project delivery group for Hatch Chile, has been elected to the position of chairman of Fiatech. Blake's two-year term begins May 21, 2012. He will lead Fiatech and its Board of Advisors in all aspects of the organization, including strategic planning and project selection and funding.
Austin, TX, May 21, 2012 — Fiatech has announced that William (Bill) Muldoon, executive vice president, North America, AVEVA, has joined the Fiatech Board of Advisors. He fills the position on the Fiatech Board which was previously held by Derek Middlemas, chief operations officer for AVEVA.
