AUSTIN, TX, July 8, 2010 - FIATECH continues to build momentum and grow, adding eleven new organizations to the consortium’s membership in the first two quarters of 2010. These new members illustrate the diversity and broad representation found in the FIATECH consortium – all working together to bring the benefits of technology to capital projects throughout the world.
The new members include:
“FIATECH’s growth during this time is a great testament to the value and benefits our members receive from participating in the consortium. For a fraction of what it would cost any one company to go it alone, companies can come together and address common challenges under the FIATECH umbrella,” explains Nicole Testa Boston, acting director of FIATECH. “These eleven new members are joining an industry-led consortium comprised of 54 other organizations currently working together on critical industry issues. We are fortunate to be working with all of them.”
Currently, FIATECH is engaged in 17 different active projects ranging from collaborating on the development of a neutral 3D model, mapping BIM workflows and checklists for information exchange between design and construction, documenting RFID practices for materials management and productivity improvement, creating an infrastructure for streamlining the building regulatory process through digital signatures and electronic plans to accelerating the development of the ISO 15926 standard to provide complete life cycle interoperability throughout a capital project.
FIATECH is an industry-led consortium, housed at The University of Texas at Austin that provides global leadership in identifying and accelerating the development, demonstration and deployment of fully integrated and automated technologies to deliver the highest business value throughout the life cycle of all types of capital projects.
