FIATECH

So what exactly is FIATECH? It is a consortium of industries and companies – owners from the industrial, power, and retail markets that, of necessity, build large assets such as refineries, power plants, large commercial buildings, or manufacturing facilities. In addition, it includes the leading providers of engineering, design, and construction services. And finally, but very critically, it encompasses some of the most influential technology providers in the world – offering everything from cutting edge software solutions to nanotechnology to new emerging materials to lasers to GPS to RFID to remote sensing capabilities… the list is endless. All in the consortium are united by one goal – to make a step change improvement in the design, engineering, construction, and maintenance of large capital assets.

FIATECH is a clearing house for break through ideas… a market place filled with stalls of best practices, innovations, and creative solutions. FIATECH not only provides a communication hub for members to quickly learn of new approaches, methods, and materials; it also does things. Project teams are formed to identify and accelerate the adoption of technologies and systems; demonstration projects are conducted to validate and perfect new approaches or methods; and teams are formed to aid and facilitate the deployment of those break-through initiatives that have been validated. In essence, it is each member’s highly robust R&D organization. Comprised of active and engaged member participants, it is the antithesis of the passive go-to-an-annual-conference-and-play-golf type of organization.
